It's a sunny day in beautiful island of Malta . The temperature once again mislead us into thinking will gonna take out our pelerinas and umbrellas.

Not an ordinary day for most of us .

Used to go to the beach or just go sighseeing , well not today .Eventhought summer is already over on the calendar ,today it becomes more legite.

Kids walking in line ,wearing all the same uniforms ,colourful and animated backpacks,some of them with flowers on their hands ,fresh new scrapbooks , the smell of pencils , the happiness and the dissapointment of a new day ,back to school.

It's a new day ,new start , new life in pursuing our dreams and priorities , it's a new beginning into reaching our goals but at the end of the day education is the key to succed in life . So no matter how hard or bad is the first day at school just remember when it all ends you will be a different person who will think about the first day at school with memories and gratitude .

For parents it will be another year of hard work to cope with the physical and financial pressures that are inevitable with children going through their educational phase. For educators it will be a challenging year of giving their best to our young people despite limited resources in certain schools. I wish all of these stakeholders success in their work in the knowledge that our prosperity depends on their efforts.

School doors reopen today for circa 30,000 students for primary and secondary level pupils whileover 20,000 students will commence or continue their studies in Higher Education institutions the following week.
Those starting school today will not only find schools well equipped with the latest technology but they will also find qualified and dedicated teachers welcoming them to the new scholastic year.
